Eminent French cartographer publisher of atlases and maps Nicolas de Fer‘s (1646–1720) copper engraving Artificial sphere or Obliquei armilla, imaging annular terrestrial and celestial model. Alongside there are disks of the Sun and the Moon, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, as well as solar system models of M. Copernicus (1476–1543), T. Brahe (1546–1601), K. Ptolemaeus (II a.) and R. Descartes (1596–1650) with explanations in French.
