Starting from this March, the National Open Access Research Data Archive (MIDAS) will undergo a several months-long modernisation process. During this process, the MIDAS portal will get a new look, some new features will be added to the registered user environment and there will be updates to some of the MIDAS system functions.
The modernisation project is funded from the European Social Fund 2014-2020 Lithuanian Operational Programme as part of the project No. 09.3.1-ESFA-V-738 “Optimising the network of Higher Education Institutions and improving the quality of studies by merging Šiauliai University with Vilnius University“.
The modernisation of the archive will take place in several stages. Currently, the first stage of the process has been completed, after which MIDAS is even safer as it was before. From now on, a more complex algorithm will be used for the encryption of personal data collected by the MIDAS system and the research data uploaded to the archive will be protected by new antivirus software. Furthermore, password change and password reset procedures have been updated in order to minimise the possibility of security gaps.
