The Scholarly Communication and Information Centre (SCIC) is a part of Vilnius University Library located in Saulėtekis Science and Studies Valley. Four faculties of Vilnius University, the National Centres for Physical Sciences and Technology and Life Sciences, as well as other institutions, are also located in this valley.

The SCIC, which stands out for its modern environment, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are over 800 study spaces in the user areas. Visitors are welcome to use specialized reading rooms, individual work cubicles, group work and seminar rooms, a modern conference hall, a children's playroom, and an IT laboratory. For the convenience of users, the centre has relaxation areas and a café.

The Library offers assistive technologies and software for individuals with visual impairments. The premises are adjusted for people with special needs.

The centre has both advanced technology-based building maintenance and the book transportation systems. The underground storage and technical floors are equipped with a modern book transportation system, advanced security systems, and a water mist fire suppression system.

The building was designed by architect Rolandas Palekas, winner of the Lithuanian National Prize.
