The Library has in its holdings over 5 million items. It has accumulated one of the richest collections of old documents in Lithuania—the largest collections of incunabula and paleotypes, as well as the old Lithuanian books (including unique items such as the first printed Lithuanian book, Martynas Mažvydas’ “Catechism”, Baltramiejus Vilentas’ “Enchiridion”, and others) in the country. The Manuscripts Division holds over 325,000 documents written in various languages from the 13^th to the 21^st centuries. The collections also include a large collection of graphic works, a significant part of which consists of old graphics from the 16^th to the 19^th centuries.
