Scholarly Communication and Information Center (SCIC)

SCIC is open 24/7

On working hours all reading rooms are open, except Textbook Collection spaces. It is open from 8.00 till 18.00 daily.

At the Main Information Desk various payments, purchase of services and user card is possible I-VII from 9.00 till 21.00.

After 21.00 till 9.00 entrance to the SCIC is possible only with Library user’s card (Vilnius University staff-member’s card, student’s ID card, and Library user's card) which barcode must be scanned before the entrance, in order for the doors to open.

On public holidays SCIC is not open. On the public holidays eve, SCIC closes at 21.00. Before Christmas Eve (December 23), SCIC is open until 5:00 p.m., before New Year's Day (December 31), SCIC is open until 4:00 p.m. The next day, respectively, after the public holidays, Library opens from 9.00.

During the summer, from 1st July up to 25^th August, from 21.00 up to 8.00 block A (with reading rooms of Communication, Law, Economics, and Business) is closed. Hence, till 21.00 we kindly ask our users to prepare all the needed items from block A and move to block B for the night or order it beforehand for the librarian to bring it to the block B selected reading room.
