SCIC is open 24/7

On working hours all reading rooms are open, except Textbook Collection spaces. It is open from 8.00 till 18.00 daily.

The items requested from the closed stacks will be fetched to the appointed reading room on working days from 9.00 till 18.00.

Librarians are available on working days from 9.00 till 18.00. During the night, in SCIC is provided a self-service.

At the Main Information Desk various payments, purchase of services and user card is possible I-VII from 9.00 till 21.00.

After 21.00 till 9.00 entrance to the SCIC is possible only with Library user’s card (Vilnius University staff-member’s card, student’s ID card, and Library user's card) which barcode must be scanned before the entrance, in order for the doors to open.

On public holidays SCIC is not open. On the public holidays eve, SCIC closes at 21.00 (shortened before the New Year’s Eve (2018 12 31 (Monday) – all reading rooms are open till 16.00). The next day, respectively, after the public holidays, Library opens from 9.00.

During the summer, from 23rd June up to 27th August, Main Information Desk of SCIC only works from 8.00 till 21.00. During the night, from 21.00 up to 8.00, only the block B (with reading rooms of Leisure, Physical Sciences, Technology, and Silent) of the Library is available for the users. During these hours block A (with reading rooms of Communication, Law, Economics, and Business) is closed. Hence, after 21.00 we kindly ask our users to prepare all the needed items from block A and move to block B for the night or order it beforehand for the librarian to bring it to the block B selected reading room.
