Central Library

Lounge Room

The Lounge Room is situated on the 3rd floor, next to the Philosophy Reading Room. Users can take their meals or drink some beverage. Please note that this area is designated only for eating or drinking and not for long conversations or studying. Here users can find a microwave, a kettle, kitchenware and cutlery.

Lounge Room is open during working hours of the Library. Every Monday for one hour from 10:00 to 11:00 Lounge Room is closed for cleaning.

Communication Corner

Komunikacijos erdvė

The Communication Corner is located on the 3rd floor next to the Lithuanian Studies Reading Room. It is an informal open space with various armchairs, coffee/tea and snacks machines. The space is designated for conversations, discussions, recreation with a cup of coffee/tea. Besides that, various exhibitions are displayed in the Communication Corner.

Rooms for Group Work B1 and B2

Two rooms for group work are situated at the Humanistics Information Centre (HIC) next to the Journalism and Media Studies Reading Room – Room for Group Work B1 (a.k.a. Nut Brown; 10 study spaces with PCs) and Room for Group Work B2 (a.k.a. Orange; 14 study spaces). More information: Rooms for Group Work.

Room for Individual work B4

Room for Individual work B4 is located on the 3rd floor beyond  Lounge and Copy/Print Room.  

B4 has 6 study spaces that can be booked and 12 lockers to keep personal belongings.

You are welcome to use free study spaces. You can check availability of study spaces and bok for free study space via Information Guide. If you want to use B4 lockers, please approach librarians at the Information desk.

Copy Room

Kopijavimo kambarys

Copy Room is located on the 3rd floor next to the Lounge Room. Here users can find 2 multifunctional devices for copying, printing or scanning. Please note that users must put some money on their virtual accounts at the Information Desk in the Central Library or at the Main Information Desk in the Scholarly Communication and Information Centre. Vilnius University Library also has a Braille printer, electronic magnifier, and a free of charge self-service device – a spiral coil binding machine. Users only have to buy the right size spiral coil.

The Café is located on the ground floor and it has 70 sitting places. Here a microwave is placed where users can warm up their food.

from 9:00 to 00:00 on working days,

from 10:00 to 22:00 on weekends.

Copy rooms

Kopijavimo kambariai

Copy rooms with multifunctional devices and stands for cameras to take high quality photocopies of any book in the Library – are placed at the Communication, Law, Economics, Business, Leisure, and Technology reading rooms. Users can copy, print or scan only after putting some money on their virtual accounts. Charging coupons can be purchased at the Information Desk in the Central Library, and at the Main Information Desk in SCIC. At the Copy Room of the Law Reading Room a spiral coil binding machine is placed. Users can use it free of charge. They only have to bring their own right size spiral coil.

IT laboratorija

Eight rooms for individual work at the Communication Reading Room are equipped with computers with special software: AutoCAD, CS6 Adobe Design Std 6, Matlab, Maple 16 Academic, SolidWorks, Origin Pro 8.6, Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Suite. More information: Study Spaces Booking.

The modern Conference Hall (capacity 130 people) is located on the ground floor. Space of the hall can be divided into three areas.
