EIGEThe European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) has donated a part of their book collection to Vilnius University Library. The donated books (there are many encyclopaedias, monographs, textbooks and dictionaries among them) present the topic of gender in various aspects. The Communication Reading Room collection of the SCIC has been supplemented with almost 2,000 books.

The books were selected while consulting with Dr. Lijana Stundžė, Head of Gender Studies Centre of the Faculty of Communication, as this collection will be useful for the staff working in the Centre, those attending lectures and writing research papers on this topic.

You can look through the printed resources on gender studies that are kept at VU Library by clicking on this link. You may filter the results by using parameters on the left side of the page. There you can sort out publications by the year of publication, language, author, sub-theme, or storage location. Besides, you may also search in the Virtual Library by entering the keyword of this topic, the exact title or the author.

EIGE has been operating in Lithuania since 2010. The focus of the Institute’s activity has been research and monitoring in the field of gender equality in European countries, accumulation of statistical data on women and men in EU. We are grateful for the donated books and hope that they will be of great use to the VU community.
