The Day of the Defenders of Freedom is the day dedicated to the memory of the historical events when Lithuania put up a fight against the occupying Soviet regime and secured its right to freedom.
On 13 January, Lithuania not only declared its intention to pursue the independence but also exerted its will to fight for it. Today Ukraine shows the same will to the entire Europe.
13 January marks the turning point in the history of Lithuania which determined the path that we follow today.
Let us respect the Freedom and never forget the heroes who gave it to us.
