We are happy to announce that by the end of 2023 Vilnius University Library has reached its goal of digitising and making publicly available over 1000 of 20th-21st century releases during the EODOPEN project.
During this project, which now is counting its last year, the most popular releases made available by the Library are the Lithuanian surname dictionaries (“Lietuvių pavardžių žodynas. A–K” and “Lietuvių pavardžių žodynas. L–Ž”) as well as “The Basics of Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Diagnostics” (“Klinikinės biochemijos ir laboratorinės diagnostikos pagrindai”) by professor Zita Aušrelė Kučinskienė.
All digitised releases are publicly available via the Digital Collections of Vilnius University Library.
In 2023, VU Library, taking part in EODOPEN project, has digitised and made available through its Digital Collections 384 publications; messages about EODOPEN activities have reached over 17 thousand individuals.
During the eBooks-On-Demand-Network Opening Publications for European Netizens (EODOPEN) project, 15 libraries from 11 European countries focus on bringing digitally-hidden 20th and 21st century works to the public forefront by digitising and making them available on a pan-European level whilst fully respecting current copyright regimes.
