Do you strive to make your scientific publications and teaching materials openly accessible and your research data reusable? Do you care about the transparency and reproducibility of research and are taking steps to make your research transparent and reproducible? Do you involve people from outside academia in your research? If you answered at least one of these questions with “yes”, perhaps you are one of the Vilnius University community members who will be presented with the first University Open Science award in the history.

All academic and non-academic staff and doctoral students are invited to apply or to nominate colleagues who made a significant contribution to the development of Open Science culture in the University in the 2023-2024 academic year.

This year, the participants will be awarded by the competent jury in the following three categories:

  • Contribution to the development of Open Science
  • Involvement of the public in research
  • Initiatives for the implementation of Open Science principles

You are invited to apply by 30 September 2024 by filling in this form.

The winners of the competition will be announced during the International Open Access Week (October 21-27).

More detailed information about the evaluation criteria and the rules of the competition can be found here.

The establishment of the Open Science award was one of the activities foreseen in the Vilnius University Open Science Policy Guidelines Implementation Plan for 2023-2028.
