Sviesotamsa Sarbievijaus koncertuiWhile celebrating the year devoted to Matthias Casimir Sarbievius and Baroque literature, the exhibition “On Two Baroque Stars, or Sarbievius and the Artistic Literature” was launched at Vilnius University Library in March. The exhibition presenting the works of the alumnus of Vilnius University and distinguished poet of Lithuania and Europe, as well as the figured poems – poetry that flourished in the epoch of the Baroque – will be on display until 26 September. Those willing to explore the scope and diversity of literary culture of the Baroque in more depth, on 25–27 September, are invited to attend a research conference held by the VU Faculty of Philology, “Ratio, affectus, sensus: Literary Culture of the Baroque in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania”. When marking the completion of the events, the concert “Sarbievius Poetry and Music – ratio, affectus, sensus” performed by the early music ensemble “Šviesotamsa” (Light darkness) will be held on 27 September, at 5 p.m. in the Aula Parva of VU.
