select and collect information resources in accordance with Vilnius University study programmes, trends of scientific research and needs of academic community, implementing the function of the Library as an institution of national importance;

lodge public tenders for books, subscription of databases and periodicals;

create and revise records for the Library's online catalogue;

prepare documents of financial accounting related to the Library’s information resources management;

carry out exchange programmes (exchange of scientific publications) with libraries and research institutions in Lithuania and abroad;

compile bibliographic databases: Bibliography of the History of Vilnius University – bibliographic records of all publications on the history and present day of Vilnius University; Lithuanian Bibliography. Series C – bibliographic records of articles published in Lithuanian periodicals between 1907 and 1909, and in Lithuania Minor periodicals between 1912 and 1913.

On request of VU faculties and divisions, compile personal bibliographies of scholars and other personnel.
