We are happy to announce that as the Government of the Republic of Lithuania lifts the quarantine, the library is also going to remove some of the restrictions that were imposed during the quarantine. From 5 July the library will provide services to all library users. Users will be able to return or borrow books by themselves without requesting them in advance.

However, the library kindly asks its users to stay cautious and note that although the quarantine has ended, while visiting the library:

  • it is obligatory to wear masks;
  • it is advised to observe hand hygiene and disinfection;
  • it is forbidden to rearrange furniture in reading rooms or other library premises as it has been arranged in a way that helps to maintain 2 metres distance between users and/or their groups.

Book borrowing

Books are borrowed in an ordinary way. For borrowing books from the closed reading rooms, please approach librarians working in reading rooms or at the Information Desk.

Book returning

Books are to be returned in an ordinary way. If you have an opportunity to return borrowed books, please do this as other users might be waiting for the books you have borrowed. Fines will not be incurred until the 1st of September.
