While celebrating a special 450^th anniversary, Vilnius University Library has launched an updated online platform of the Digital Collections for users. Supplemented with thousands of new documents, the platform will enable simpler search, improved preview of objects and intuitive navigation.

The  free access to key reference works on Cambridge Core will be available until 30th July 2020.

Entry to Vilnius University Library (Central Library, Scholarly Communication and Information Centre, faculties’ reading rooms) is not possible.

On March 10^th (Tuesday) the Scholarly Communication and Information Centre (SCIC) and VU Central Library will be open until 9 pm.

On March 11^th (Wednesday) SCIC and VU Central Library will be closed — Day of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania.

On March 12^th (Thursday) SCIC and VU Central Library will open at 9 am.

On Friday, 6 March we will celebrate the international Open Data Day. Open data is government, public sector or research data which is freely available in digital format for reuse and sharing. Open access to data has accelerated many scientific discoveries and inspired new business projects worldwide. The international Open Data Day has been celebrated since 2010.

In order to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus in the University and to ensure optimal ventilation and cleanliness, the VU Library's Scientific Communication and Information Centre will be closed 9 PM to 9 AM from 28 February to 16 March.

VU Central Library's working hours will stay the same.

Vilnius University Library has joined an international project EODOPEN (eBooks-On-Demand-Network Opening Publications for European Netizens). The four-year project aims at digitising and opening up 15 thousand documents and literary works from the 20th and 21st century for European netizens.

The trial access will be active until 4th of April 2020. 

A declaration drawing attention to the positive impact of research data sharing was adopted at an unprecedented international summit of the topmost scientific universities held at Sorbonne University in Paris on 27 January.

As the Government refuses to honour its promise to allocate additional funds for raising salaries for professors, researchers and non-academic staff from the 1st of January, Vilnius University has announced its decision to temporarily stop its activities.

We are glad to announce that the Statista trial access is active until 10th December.

We would like to invite you to attend the training on IEEE Xplore Digital Library to be held on 21st November at Vilnius University Library, Scholarly Communication and Information Centre (Saulėtekio al. 5, Vilnius).

The trial access to Journals of the American College of Cardiology on ScienceDirect platform will last until 31st December 2019.

The exhibition dedicated to the 450 years of Jesuit mission in Lithuania spans the history of Jesuit missionaries and activities from the 16^th to the 18^th century.

VU library invites to test new databases on EBSCOhost. The trial access will be available until 31st December 2019.

According to the Research Council of Lithuania’s (RCL) Guidelines on Open Access to Research Publications and Data that entered into force in 2016, research projects which will generate research data are required to submit a data management plan (DMP).
